Ashall Dancer swore an affidavit as a clergyman in 1833 in Shelby County, Tn. 57
He came to Texas about 1838 and was known as Baptist preacher in Bastrop and Fayette Counties. 6
Aschal Dancer is in the 1838 Bastrop County tax list, the 1840 Bastrop County census 59 and the 1846 tax list. 56 Presumably he died before September 4, 1850 as the 1850 census taken on that date lists his wife Mary (52) living with son James H.(13) and daughter Rebecca(7).
